TAK, Ezekiel (grandson), and Cindy

Pastor Troy (TAK) and Mrs. Cindy Knudsen came to CCNaz as Children and Families Pastors in November 2019 and have a passion for ministering to kids and their families. They have two grown children who serve as youth ministers in the Church of the Nazarene and two grandsons.

Pastor TAK first felt the call to youth ministry in 1983. In 1992, God spoke again to both TAK and Cindy with a call to ministry as a couple. At that time, TAK felt his call was to pastor and Cindy felt hers was to be a faithful pastor’s wife alongside him. As the years of ministry passed, Cindy felt the definite call to ministry herself to serve as a children’s pastor. In 2011, as TAK and Cindy worked together in children’s ministry, God made it clear to TAK that his call also, was to minister to kids and their families.

Pastor TAK gave his life to Christ at the age of 19 and attended Trevecca Nazarene College and Nazarene Bible College. He has served as a youth pastor, pastor, children’s pastor, and NextGen pastor. He uses puppets, skits, and humor to share the Good News of Christ with children, and his goal is to make every child feel important and let each one know that they matter.

Mrs. Cindy gave her life to Christ at the age of 14. She has served as NYI (youth) President, children’s director, VBS director and NextGen leader along with other volunteer positions in the church. She attended Trevecca Nazarene College and Nazarene Bible College and has a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from St Leo University. She has 15 years experience in teaching in public elementary schools. She currently teaches at Delton Elementary here in Spring Hill. Her goal as a teacher is to teach children in such a way that she connects with every child so that each one can know the Good News of Christ and how to live for Him daily.

Both Pastor TAK and Cindy love being with kids and their families, becoming a part of their lives, and sharing with them how good God is and the difference He can make in their lives as their Savior.
